Kenneth E. Holbrook ’58

Kenneth E. Holbrook ’58 died on December 11, 2024, in Farmington, Maine.

Searsmont – Kenneth E. Holbrook, originally of Vinalhaven, Maine, passed away peacefully at age 88, on December 11, 2024, at Woodlands Senior Living of Farmington, Maine. The son of Herman F. and Erma H. Holbrook, Ken was born on March 25, 1936.

He spent the happiest years of his life as a lobsterman, following proudly in his father’s footsteps and cherishing his time on the water. He had great esteem and affection for members of the Vinalhaven fishing community and often expressed gratitude for the many kindnesses they extended to him over the years. Ken was a graduate of Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, class of 1958.

Surviving family includes his wife of nearly forty years, Jane; and her daughters, Barbara Hamilton, Susan Hall, and Teresa Hall, who looked after him graciously during his time in Searsmont, Maine. He is also survived by his son, Herman F. Holbrook of Brunswick; his stepson, Louis James Holbrook of South Portland; his daughter, Jennifer Holbrook; and his grandchildren, Hannah and Patrick Huber of Farmington, Maine.
