(The following was provided by Olinger Funeral Chapel in October 31, 2023:)
Kristen Elaine Maddoux passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 47. As someone whose general demeanor was described as fun and full of light, the loss of Kristen is profound, leaving all who knew her bereft and our world a duller place. Kristen is survived by her husband and daughter, Kevin and Mia Maddoux, her parents, Phillip and Marjery Clark, and her brother, sister-in-law, and niece, Brian, Elizabeth, and Millie Clark. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that spanned the full spectrum of her life.
Kristen was born on April 17, 1976, in Boston but moved to Colorado a scant month later. Her family settled in the suburbs of Denver, and it was there that Kristen spent her childhood and young adult years. Kristen graduated from Littleton High School in 1994. Kristen attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and graduated in 1998 with a degree in marine biology. After graduation, she spent eighteen months in the Peace Corps in the Philippines.
Upon her return to Denver, Kristen decided to become a physician’s assistant. Kristen applied and was accepted to the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s physician assistant program. Kristen also met her husband, Kevin Maddoux, and married on May 24, 2003. They embarked on their life together and welcomed their daughter, Mia ,in 2008. Kristen served for over twenty years as pediatric physician’s assistant at Every Child Pediatrics.
The ensuing years have contained plenty of adventure. One thing they loved to do as a family was travel, and they explored such far-flung locations as Iceland and Costa Rica; they also visited locales close to home in Colorado, and often headed down to New Mexico to visit Kevin’s parents.
