Laurier E. Jalbert, a former custodian at the College, died on January 10, 2005, in Lewiston, Maine.

He was born on November 17, 1909, in Lisbon Falls. He worked at Eaton’s Hardware Store in Brunswick for 20 years and then worked as a custodian at the College for 17 years. Upon his retirement he was elected an honorary member of the Bowdoin Alumni Association. He was a former member of the Brunswick Chess Club. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Desjardins Jalbert, whom he had married in 1944; a son, Thomas Jalbert of Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews.
