Mark D. Lechner ’74 died on December 16, 2022, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Mark D. Lechner, age 70, died at home on December 16, 2022.
He was the son of Dolores B. Tellers Lechner and Carl B. Lechner, MD, brother of the late Richard J. Lechner, of Aspinwall, PA, and of Brenda M. Lechner Bigelow and Dana F. Bigelow, Esq. of Syracuse, NY, and Carl B. (wife Pamela) Lechner, Ph.D.. of northeast Ohio. Mark was a member of a large, Erie-based, extended family with roots in Germany. He shared his life and his love of music with his late partners, Kevin Sadowski and Wallace Wiese.
He attended Gilmour Academy in Cleveland and Bowdoin College in Maine, graduating cum laude in 1974 with a BA in English. He spent his career in the computer industry, serving as IT manager and assistant to the president of Erie Beer, sales manager at Bay City Computer Services, and marketing specialist and IT manager at Northwestern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center. Mark was a longtime member of Luther Memorial Church, sharing his passion for music with his church community through his involvement in the choir and handbell choir. He served as secretary on the church council, and on the organ and concert series committees. His family and friends will miss him
