Michel A. Cameron ’58 died on April 14, 2011, in Otsego, Michigan.

Michel A. Cameron, a consultant in the oil and gas industry and resident at Tree Tops Resort, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years old. Cameron was well known in the Michigan oil and gas business having worked for McClure Oil in Alma prior to joining Ward Lake Energy and its successor firm EnerVest in Gaylord, MI. He was president of the Michigan Association of Professional Landmen in 1967. While in Alma, Mike was active in the First Presbyterian Church and performed with the Gratiot County Players and the annual Highland Festival. He was honored to serve as the Grand Marshall of the Festival parade and took great pride in his ancestry. He also was elected Alma City Commissioner in 1975 and served on the Gratiot Community Hospital Board of Trustees. He had a lifelong relationship with the Tawas Beach Club in East Tawas serving on its Board of Directors at various times. A native of Saginaw, Cameron is survived by two brothers – Kenneth Cameron of East Tawas, MI and Gary Cameron of Beverly Hills, MI.
