Peter J. Hyszczak ’75

Peter J. Hyszczak ’75 died on October 29, 2013, at his home in North Yarmouth, Maine.

He was born on December 19, 1953, in Munich, West Germany, immigrated with his parents at the age of two, and prepared for college at Somerville (N.J.) High School. He was a dean’s list student at Bowdoin. He recognized early the future potential of cell phone technology and was one of the first in Maine to own one when he began his career at StarCellular in Saco. He remained in the wireless business—surviving two corporate buyouts, holding managerial positions throughout—and retired from Verizon Wireless after thirty-one years in the industry. In 1997, he founded Integrated Marketing Advantage (IMA) in Portland, specializing in database marketing and interactive media. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Ramona, and his children, Egon and Alexandra.
