Peter W. Smith ’07 died on November 22, 2017, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Smith, Peter William Age 33 years, of Boston, formerly of Hamilton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, he was the son of Barbara J. (DiPaolo) Smith of Peabody and William B. Smith of Manchester-by-the-Sea. He was raised in Hamilton, attended Deerfield Academy and graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and Phillips Andover Academy. Peter graduated from Bowdoin College in 2007 and was a four-year member of the men’s varsity ice hockey team. Mr. Smith had been employed as an Investment Counselor for Wilkins Investment Counsel in Boston. He specialized in fixed income management and research for the company. Peter holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and was a member of the CFA Society Boston. Peter had a zest for life, an infectious smile, was an honest person and a loyal friend to many. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Amy Smith of Somerville and Julia Smith of Manchester-by-the-Sea; one brother, Michael Smith of Beverly; his longtime and beloved girlfriend, Frances Hutton of Los Angeles, CA, his maternal grandmother, Ann DiPaolo of Beverly Farms and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
