Richard T. McCabe ’54 died on May 28, 2017, in Cotuit, Massachusetts.

McCABE, Richard Thomas Of Cotuit and formerly of Wellesley, passed away on May 28, 2017. He was born on February 24, 1932, in Boston, the son of Joseph P. and Minerva Balfour McCabe. He attended Noble and Greenough School, and graduated from Bowdoin College. Dick was President of Joseph P. McCabe, Inc., and served as director, treasurer and secretary of the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts. He was an avid sailor, book collector, and naturalist, and a long-time supporter of the Cotuit Kettleers. After retiring, he spent his winters in Lauderdale By The Sea, enjoying golf, tennis, and collecting seashells. Dick is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Nancy; his daughter Suzanne; his daughter Lisa and her husband Peter; his son Andrew ’90 and his wife Gao Hua ’92; and his grandchildren, Nate, Nick, Livvy, Emme ’20, and Winnie.
