Robert E. Harrington ’65 died on June 20, 2023, in Walpole New Hampshire.

Robert E. Harrington, of Walpole, NH, passed on the morning of Tuesday, June 20th. He passed peacefully and surrounded by family. He touched many lives in over forty years of teaching math and coaching a variety of sports at Vermont Academy. At Bowdoin Bob was a three-sport athlete who played football, basketball, and baseball. In his time as Bowdoin’s quarterback he was known as Robert the Rifle. Bob is survived by Marti, his wife of fifty-six years, his two sons, Jeff Harrington (Bowdoin ’91) and Dan Harrington (Bowdoin ’95), daughter-in-law Laurie Ford Harrington (Bowdoin ’91), daughter-in-law Megan Prout, and four grandchildren.
