Robert “Rob” Winans, of Los Angeles, California, passed away on January 30, 2026.

Rob will be remembered for his quick wit, unmistakable charm, and infectious smile. Known among family and friends as the “selfie king,” he never passed up the chance to gather everyone together for a photo, capturing the moments that mattered most.

He graduated from Bowdoin College and began his career in banking in New York City at Manufacturers Hanover. He later earned his MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business before moving to Los Angeles, where he worked in boutique bond sales and eventually built a successful career in residential real estate. He was known for his energy, confidence, and ability to connect easily with others.

Rob took great pride in his son, Kimball (RKW Jr.), and was closely involved in his life from an early age. He coached Kimball in baseball, soccer, and nearly every sport he played, spending countless hours on fields and sidelines. In later years, they shared a love of golf, skiing, and tennis — and especially pickleball, where Rob liked to say he had finally found his true athletic calling.

In recent years, Rob faced serious health challenges. He handled them with grace, determination, and even humor. Though his body grew tired, his spirit never quit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck, and is survived by his son, Kimball; his mother, Abigail; his sister, Betsy; and his brother, Chip, along with extended family and many friends who will miss him greatly.
