Robert M. Lawlis ’44

Robert M. Lawlis ’44 died on August 2, 2006, in Bangor, Maine.

Robert Madigan Lawlis, 85, died August 2, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 19, 1921, in Houlton, the son of Robert M. and Alice (Madigan) Lawlis. Robert served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He was a graduate of Bowdoin College with a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics and Boston University with a degree in criminal justice. Robert was an attorney in the Houlton area for many years. He is survived by three children, Robert M. Lawlis of Hampden, Jonathan R. Lawlis of California and Catherine M. Haugin; six grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Whittier Lawlis of Houlton.
