I am very sad to report that Roger Coe, Class of 59′, captain of the Polar Bear hockey team and dear friend to Sid Watson (former Bowdoin AD), passed away the beginning of October of 2021 after a brave battle with bone marrow cancer at the age of 84. He truly loved being amongst his friends and family, and was quoted from a friend that “Roge” was truly a renaissance man, who spent a long career as an executive with the Samsonite Luggage Co. and not wanting to retire, he found a second home designing luggage for the Brighton Company. He won a gold medal at the Senior Olympic Games in hockey and was an avid skier, tennis player, and a die-hard Denver Bronco fan. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, and four grandchildren.
