Roland H. Janelle ’56 died on September 18, 2014, in Lewiston, Maine.
He was born on May 22, 1934, in Lewiston, and graduated from Lewiston High School, where he was a standout basketball and track star. He continued his athletic achievement at Bowdoin, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served to lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve, spending time in South Korea as the campaign came to a close. He also worked for Prudential for many years and was a member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Nancy Loring Janelle; daughters Keri Robichaud and Amanda Mitchell; son David Courtemanche; and three grandchildren.
