C. Russell Herrmann ’55 died November 28, 2013, in Naples, Fla. He was born in Boston on October 28, 1933, and prepared for college at the Hackley School.
He was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity, and served to specialist second class in the Army. He spent more than twenty years as co-owner of Anderson & Herrmann Wholesale Lumber in Melrose, Mass., and later retired from Verizon. Affectionately nicknamed the “Mayor of Magnolia,” he was a member of the Magnolia (Mass.) Lions Club and the Marco Island Lions Club in Florida. He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Patricia Ann Herrmann; sons Craig and Todd Herrmann ’85; daughter Laura Couallier; stepdaughter Pamela Lutz; sister Janet Herrmann; brothers Robert and Scott Herrmann, and three grandchildren.
