With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sue E. Blier, 82, a compassionate and loving individual, who left us on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Alfond Center for Health, just a few months shy of her 83rd birthday. Born on April 20, 1943, in Dresden, ME, Sue spent the majority of her life in West Gardiner, Maine, where she was deeply cherished by her community.
Sue was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent many years in the service of Bowdoin College, where she worked tirelessly in housekeeping until her retirement at the age of 77. Her love for her work was only overshadowed by her love for her family and her adored dogs. She had a special fondness for playing cribbage with her daughter, Mary, and was always ready to lend a caring hand to anyone in need. Sue was known for her compassionate heart, always looking to mother other people and provide comfort wherever possible.
Sue is survived by her four children, Charles and Eric Blier, Lori Guerette and Mary St. Amand; nine grandchildren James and Chris St. Amand, Christine and Stephen Guerette, Alysha and Robert Johnson Blier, Joshua Blier, Morgan Simoneau, and Mason Blier, as well as great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Curry, and a son Andrew Blier. Her love, kindness, and selfless nature will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
