Christopher T. Emmet, 81, of Far Hills, NJ, died on Sunday at Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge.

Chris was born in Peterborough, NH, and grew up in Cape Porpoise, Maine, and lived in Montclair, Oldwick, and Far Hills since 1968. He was a graduate of Bowdoin College and received his master’s degree from Cornell University.

He was president and CEO of Emmet & Company, Inc. of Far Hills.

He was a former member of the Essex Fox Hounds, Peapack, NJ, where he served as treasurer for many years.

He is survived by four sons: James E. Doubleday of Cutchogue, NY, Christopher T. Emmet II of Warren, Peter W. Emmet and his wife, Kris, of Readington Twp., and Thomas Emmet of Costa Rica; He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher T. Emmet III and Rachel L. Emmet, both of Somerset, and three brothers, Robert T Emmet, Richard Emmet, and James Emmet.
