David C. Merritt ’91 died on October 18, 2007, in West Haven, Connecticut. 

He was born on April 20, 1969, in New Haven, Conn., and graduated from Trumbull High School. He was on the Bowdoin varsity swim team, where he set the freshman record for the 800-yard freestyle relay, beating the former record by more than 10 seconds. He is survived by his parents, Linda Olsen and Edwin Merritt; brothers Thomas and Andrew Merritt, and sister Alicyn.
