David C. Wilson ’46

David C. Wilson ’46 died on January 3, 2013, in Overland Park, Kansas.

David Calvert Wilson, 88, died peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Bickford of Overland Park. Dave was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Boston, Mass., and grew up in the neighboring town of Concord. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps for three years during World War II. After graduation in 1950 from Bowdoin College, he worked for United Carr Fastener in Cambridge, Mass., before being transferred to Detroit. In 1962 he began work for the Cadillac Division of General Motors, mostly in the Kansas City area, until he retired in 1987. After living for a year in Australia he returned to Overland Park where he was active as a master gardener for the Johnson County Extension Service.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Nan; their six children, Lynn, Michael, John, Andrew, James, and Thomas; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Calvert; and many nieces and nephews.
