David W. Garland ’50 died on November 26, 2015, in Needham, Massachusetts.

Garland, David W. Esq. Of North Hill, Needham. November 26, 2015. Formerly of Wellesley. Beloved husband of Natalie (Smith) Garland for over 60 years. Devoted father of Edward R. “Ted” Garland and his wife Mary of Natick; Peter T. Garland and his wife Melissa of Old Lyme, CT; and Dwight W. Garland and his wife Suzanne of Wellesley. Grandfather of Matthew, Katherine, Sally, Shannon, Roger, Madison, Christopher, Michael, Peter and late Chelsea. Brother of Barbara Clinkenbeard and her husband David of Peterborough, NH. David as member of the Mass Bar was a retired estate settlement specialist with several big Boston banks. A graduate of Columbia Law School ’53, graduate of Bowdoin College ’50 and graduate of Middlesex School in Concord, MA ’46. Served in Army Signal Corps. A long-term Wellesleyite he served as Treasurer of the Wellesley Scholarship Foundation, President of both Lions and Kiwanis Clubs and coach of Little League team for 6 years. A member of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church he served as a deacon and many other church offices as well as singing in the choir for 12 years. Three sons graduated for Wellesley High School plus 3 grandsons who did the same. He summered at a 300-year old farmhouse in Fitzwilliam, N.H.
