Edwin E. “Dunk” Leason Jr. ’48

Edwin E. “Dunk” Leason Jr. ’48 died August 27, 2013, at his home in Great Barrington, Mass. He was born on January 9, 1924, in Boston, and prepared for Bowdoin at Hyde Park (Mass.) High School, Northeastern University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He later studied communications at Yale University and engineering at Northeastern University. He served to first lieutenant in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He worked in circulation and sales for Time-Life publishing for thirty-five years, retiring in 1984. He was an avid golfer and was a past member at Wyantenuck Country Club in Great Barrington. He attended the First Congregational Church (Old Parish) in Sheffield. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Alice Cadman Leason; daughter Cheryl Laverty; stepsons Richard and Christopher Mohr; brother Robert W. Leason; and six grandchildren, including Sarah A. Laverty ’03. He was predeceased by his son, David E. Leason, in 1976.
