Frank L. Emerson ’46 died August 26, 2013, at his home in Sarasota, Fla. He was born in Island Falls on April 12, 1923, son of the late Roswell D. Emerson ’20, and prepared for college at Island Falls High School and Hebron Academy. A member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, he had his education interrupted by World War II. He served to corporal as a bomb-sight mechanic in the Army Air Forces and graduated in 1948, remaining a member of the class of 1946. He worked in the Maine Forest Service and as a dairy farmer. He is survived by his companion of thirty-seven years, Margaret Newsom; son Efrem Emerson; sister Pat; one grandson; and Margaret’s children, Ben and Becky.
