F. Kirk Metzger ’57 died on August 16, 2013, in Qawra, Malta.

METZGER, Dr. Fraser Kirk- On August 16th 2013, Kirk passed away at the age of 77 in Qawra, Malta where he lived with his wife Donna Lynde. Son of Karl and Eleanor Metzger, Kirk was raised in New Brunswick, New Jersey, attended Bowdoin College in Maine and Rutgers University before earning his Ph.D in French History at Marquette University. In 1968 he moved with his family to London, Ontario, where he served for many years on the Faculty of History at The University of Western Ontario. He was subsequently a long time faculty member at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. He and Donna retired to England and enjoyed traveling together before settling more recently in Malta. A lover of reading, a good debate, and WW II movie classics, dad had a quick mind and a sharp wit. He was a proud father of his four children, Tory, Patrick (Christina), Amy (Duncan), and Christopher (Sunny). Predeceased by his parents and his brother Karl. Survived by his wife, Donna, four children, six grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. Fly high dad, we love you.

    What a lovely tribute..my good friend Donna Lynde and loving wife of the late Frazer Kirk Metzger..will be thankful for this obituary
