Julie W. Colliton ’84

Julie W. Colliton ’84 died August 16, 2013, in Breckenridge, Colorado, after a long battle with anorexia.

She was born in Brighton, Mass., on January 24, 1962, daughter of the late Hugh F. Colliton III ’54, and prepared for college at Newton (Mass.) North High School. She was a dean’s list student at Bowdoin and a varsity member of the cross-country team. She was awarded a Van Swearingen Scholarship from Bowdoin to study medicine at Dartmouth and Brown universities, graduating in 1990. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Tufts University and worked as a physician at UMass Medical Center. She authored two chapters in the American College of Sports Medicine textbook, The Team Physician’s Handbook. She is survived by her daughter, Orla Eisenberg; sisters Meg McConnell, Amy Newell, and Susan Colliton; and Orla’s father, Rick Eisenberg.
