George S. Robinson Jr. ’60 died on February 4, 2018, in Warrenton, Virginia.

Dr. George S. Robinson, a thirty-five year resident of Warrenton, Virginia, passed away on February 4, 2018. He is survived by his wife Ann K. Robinson; two sons, George S. Robinson, IV and his wife Tiffany, and Whitson, W. Robinson; and four grandchildren, Kristin, Kemper, Lillian and Bennett.
Dr. Robinson graduated from the St. Albans School in Washington, DC, Bowdoin College in Maine, The University of Virginia School of Law, and McGill University where he earned and LLC and the world’s first doctor of civil laws degree in space law from the McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law.
For twenty-five years, Dr. Robinson served as legal counsel at the Smithsonian Institution. Prior to his career at the Smithsonian, Dr. Robinson served as an international relations specialist for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Dr. Robinson also served as legal counsel for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the US Department of Transportation.
