John C. Finn ’57 died on March 26, 2022, in Beverly, Massachusetts

John C. Finn ’57

Beverly – John C. Finn, age 87, died peacefully on March 26, 2022, at Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon (O’Hearn) Finn. He was born in Lewiston, ME, on February 19, 1935, to the late John A. and Mary (Ault) Finn.

John graduated in 1953 from Lewiston High School where he was president of his class. He graduated from Bowdoin College, class of 1957 where he played varsity basketball and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. At Bowdoin he made many lifelong friends. John was employed by New England Telephone/NYNEX and retired after thirty-seven years. John was active in local politics, enjoyed golfing and spending time at the beach. In his youth he spent summers at the family home at Old Orchard Beach. John was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly and was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John W. Finn and his wife, Barbara, of Virginia, Christopher P. Finn of Salem; one daughter, Maureen A. Finn of Marblehead; two brothers, James Finn of Maine, Charles Finn of Maine; one sister, Mary Jane Poulin of Illinois; and two grandchildren, Kathleen and Caroline Finn. He was predeceased by his brother William Finn.
