John C. Springer ’76 died on June 26, 2021, in Iowa Park, Texas.

John C. Springer ’76

John Curtis Springer, 67, of Iowa Park passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

John was born on June 29, 1953, to the late Vincent and Ella (Jones) Springer in Boston, Massachusetts. During his high school years, he participated in sports, including hockey, lacrosse, and football. After graduating high school, John proudly joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. Twenty-six years later he retired at the rank of  First Sergeant. While working for the Texas Department of Correction, John met another employee, Brenda Yancey, and the couple married on April 29, 2001. As John would always say “We met in prison”. John fully retired in 2009. He liked watching movies and all different kinds of sports. John’s favorite was watching hockey. John and Brenda were members of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will be missed by many family members and friends.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers.

He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Brenda; son, Victor Springer, and his wife, GiGi; three daughters, Shree Willett, Tammy Collins, and Bridgett Collins; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Phillip Springer and Vincent Springer; and many friends.
