Joseph W. Caron

Joseph W. Caron, a longtime Bowdoin chef, died on November 6, 2013, in Lewiston, Maine.

He was born in Brunswick on June 11, 1932, and began his career as a chef while serving as a paratrooper in the Army. He spent the majority of his career at Bowdoin before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the VFW and an honorary member of the Bowdoin Alumni Association. He is survived by daughters Linda Marquis and Lisa Erskine; sons Ronald and Donald Caron; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his wife of sixty-one years, Gisele Boivin Caron, in March 2012; son Cornel Caron; sister Jeannine Caron, and brother Nelson Caron.
