Margaret White Cox ’80 died July 14, 2014, in her home in Weston, Mass. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., on December 19, 1957, and graduated from the Allendale Columbia School.

At Bowdoin, she was a member of the varsity women’s tennis team and captain of the squash team, lettering in them in each of her four years. For many years, she participated in the Bowdoin Alumni Association of Boston, where she rekindled her friendship with her future husband, the late David Van Vleck Cox ’80. She was a life-long summer resident of Nantucket and member of the Nantucket Yacht Club. She is survived by daughter Margaret “Margo” Howe Cox, son Graham Van Vleck Cox and brothers William Allen White and Lindsay “Peter” White. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband of nine years, David Van Vleck Cox.
