(The following appeared in the Bangor Daily News, April 7, 2015):

HARPSWELL – David Thomas Wilkinson, 70, of Harpswell, beloved husband of Marilyn Lundy Taylor, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2015. Dave, the son of the late Hannah (Willis) Chadwick and the late Gilbert Thomas Wilkinson, was born at the Chelsea Naval Hospital in Massachusetts. Raised in Weston MA, he graduated from the Noble and Greenough school and attended Bowdoin College and Ohio University.

Dave possessed a zest for life and a passion for the arts, particularly music and photography. As a teenager, his band “The Reveliers” and their song “Hangin’ Five” made it into the top ten on Boston radio stations. In Ohio, he studied under the noted photographer Minor White. Throughout his life, he took photographs and played music for the sheer joy of it. He wrote over sixty songs.

During the last decade, Dave moved into videography which combined his love of visual imagery with his music. Together with Marilyn, he created “incredibleMAINE,” which has aired weekly on the Maine Public Broadcasting Networks since 2007 and received six Emmy nominations.

His passions were many. He loved Maine and the outdoors. He wrote four books. In the winter Dave would cross country ski and in the summer fly fish for brook trout. His greatest joy, however, was simply taken from the marriage to the love of his life, Marilyn.

Dave leaves behind daughter, Hester and husband, Andy Mishkin of Topsham; son, Brad and his wife, Patty of Norwood, MA; three grandchildren, Harriet Mishkin, and Tess and Jake Wilkinson. He also leaves sister, Hope and husband, Bob MacDonald of Millinocket; brother, Brad and wife, Mary of Durham, CT; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
